Last week Carnegie was invited to attend the Department of Defence’s Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) Pitch Day 2025 where it was awarded the Power and Energy Innovation Award.
ASCA’s mission is to accelerate the development and transition of asymmetric capabilities to the Australian Defence Force through innovation, in order to meet Defence priority needs. In August, ASCA released a Request for Information (RFI) seeking innovative asymmetric solutions for Power and Energy. Carnegie submitted a response entitled ‘Energy Autonomy at Sea,’ identifying how our wave energy technologies and capabilities could support Australia’s Defence Force
Carnegie was selected as one of thirty successful pitches and invited to attend the Pitch Day 2025 in Sydney. On the pitch day, Carnegie presented to an esteemed judging panel and wider Defence stakeholders and received the Innovation Award in the Power and Energy Theme.
Over the following days, the Carnegie team continued engaging with Defence and industry stakeholders at the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition which connects Defence, industry, government and academia in the national interest. The level of engagement and interest during these events highlights the growing market opportunity for Carnegie’s wave energy technologies, knowledge and capabilities to be utilised to provide energy solutions for existing and emerging Defence applications.
